St John The Baptist church was first built around 1252 and has been an important part of the community ever since. As part of the Revel group of churches the building has services most Sundays and is particularly well known for regular bell ringing each Sunday and key national (and local) events.
This grade 2 listed building the church is open every day for visitors to walk round and take time to reflect.
Given the age of the building there is an ongoing need to support it’s continued upkeep. The church has been a regular recipient of grants from the festival and was in fact a driving force to the commencement of the festival. In 2019 the festival was pleased to provide a £2,500 grant towards the appeal to maintain the beautiful west window. The work was subsequently completed and can be viewed today.
